Put It Straight

sqewrks.blerks.trueks.grggr.tztgt.

I’ve told you, idle-ity KILLS me. everyday, I surf the intenet. doing the same thing over and over again. (err..sapa suruh??)

I want to do something, it’s just that everytime I’m at the thought of it, I begin to ask myself, “Should I or should I not?”

I know, in everything we do, it should be DEPENDANT on our NIAT. erm, so how then?

It’s just that I’m AFRAID I’ll be doing something that is TOTALLY USELESS due to maybe, hypocrisy.

It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu’minin, Abu Hafs ‘Umar bin al-Khattab, radiyallahu ‘anhu, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, say:

“Actions are (judged) by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated.”

 (Riwayat Al-Bukhari & Muslim)

Teringat aku satu contoh tentang ‘keikhlasan’ yang aku dengar, petikan daripada satu rakaman ceramah [klik di sini untuk mendengar]. durasi audio : 2 minit 11 saat

download, dengar sambil baca. menarik sket. hehe.

“Saya teringat ada satu kisah tentang Ustaz Ibrahim Libya. Ustaz Ibrahim Libya ni asy-syahid, syahid, pada tahun 1985 ke 86. Pada suatu hari, dia dari Baling, dia nak pegi ceramah dekat Penang. Dia pergi dengan sahabat dia, saudara, kawan dia. Dia pergi dengan kereta, dah sampai dekat dengan Penang dah, dia pun patah balik.

Kawan dia tanya, “Kenapa patah balik? Dah nak sampai ni, ceramah nanti akan mula.”

Dia kata, ” Aku tadi masa aku turun dari rumah, aku niat nak ceramah ni sebab dapat duit. Jadi aku nak patah balik semula, untuk betulkan balik niat aku.”

Haa, tu macam tu, dia punya nak luruskan dia punya niat supaya ikhlas. Sebab dia nak jaga supaya hati dia memang pergi perjalanan dia kerana Allah S.W.T. Supaya ikhlas itu. Jadi ni pentingnya ikhlas..

Nak tunjuk bagaimana pemimpin kita dulu yang sangat menjaga keikhlasan sampai peringkat macam tu. Supaya dia nak ajar diri dia supaya, lepas ni jangan lagi fikir benda-benda macam tu. Fikir tak ikhlas dan sebagainya.

Jadi ni penting, setiap benda kita buat, selalu muhasabah…”

(yang tersebut di atas tu aku taip menurut bait-bait kata penceramah tersebut. maaf jika terdapat ralat)

Apekebende?

It’s about offering something. Should or shouldn’t?

Erm, I guess, in anything we do, always put the NIAT straight. (what I meant to say is ‘luruskan niat’)

As mentioned in the hadith, in other words, “You’ll get what you intend to get out of what you do”

For example, say a person (e.g. Toratora) wants to reduce her body weight, so she plans to fast in order to reduce her weight. She thought, if she fast, she could also get some good rewards (pahala) besides reducing her weight.

Later, when she is fasting, her NIAT is to ‘reduce her weight’. Supposedly, in the context of ibadah, the NIAT should be the one and only, to SERVE Allah (mengabdikan diri kepada Allah).

So, by niat-ing to ‘reduce her weight’, in the end, probably she will get what she intended from fasting, which is ‘to reduce her weight’. Does she fast for the sake of SERVING the God? Does she fast for Allah?

Any good rewards for Toratora? Wallahu’alam. Only Allah knows.

Conclusion

Put our niat straight in whatever we intend to do.

A reminder for myself and whoever reads this.

Subhanaka laa ‘ilmalana illa ma ‘alamtana innaka antal ‘alimul hakim.

Allahu’alam.

p/s : my resolution, bak kata task force miri, “if it is not us, who else will? if it is not now, when will it be then?”

p/s 2 : aku hamba-Nya yang lemah dengan pelbagai genap kelemahan

Semoga kita diberi hidayah dan taufik oleh Allah S.W.T untuk melakukan apa yang sepatutnya dilakukan.
